![]() | #9 THOM SIBBIT Position: SCRUM HALF Age:29 AKA: " Birddog" |
| I was asking Thom before the first game just how many times he had to pee before a game because I had already counted three. He assured me it was only performance bladder. Another habit he has is vomiting after every game; makes me wonder if he also does that when he gets off stage. Thom had a great day out on the pitch, aggressive and tough as hell. After beer and a little tiger balm, it was no wonder he slept half the way home. :D -Sandi check out Sandi's pics | ![]() |
| TOUGH LOSS FOR THE ROCKS What happened? I'm so upset I could sit here and talk about what we could have done right to win this game but that would have to be quite a list. It hurts me when guys like Ham come out and give all he's got and get a concussion to lose like this. Or the guys who showed up to Thursday practice in the rain and ran their heart out at Memorial Park. Think about the Steve and Gary coming out to teach us the game, your wife or girlfriend that comes to support you every Saturday. Shout out to injured players Chris Tubrick and Mike Alverez who showed up to the game. Think about yourself and the hits you take, the drills you do, the drills you run and the time you put into this. Think of the guys that work hard in their spare time to look for sponsors, wash jerseys arrange matches and socials. Think of Trevor who messed up his lip (hope that heals bro). What or who do you play for? I play for every guy that puts on the green jersey, I play for my wife and my family, I play for the whole Shamrocks organization and for the city of Omaha. When you put on the jersey and run on the field you know I will have your back 100%. I will give my best every time I play and I will never quit. What will you do? From this day on I will post a message from every player so the world hears what you have to say. Tell us what you are playing for. |
Weekly News
Bissell puts up 2 tries against Wayne State.
Trevor Bissell is a classic player who has been with the Shamrocks for as long as I can remember. He is also the most dedicated player on the team because he is not known for missing practice or any games except when injured.
This weekend Bissell's hard work finally payed off with him scoring 2 tries in the left corner.
Both plays began with the forwards pounding the ball on the right hand side of the field, heads butting and heavy rucking Sibbit passed the ball out to Pat Taberth at the fly half position. The ball was quickly spun down the line where Bissell received the pass with 10 yards of space on his left. He accelerated into the try zone diving to score the try that put us in the lead.
Both scores from the Shamrocks came from Bissell and he was named Player of the match.
We must step back and take a look at how all this happened to see where this Shamrocks team is going. Once the Rocks got in the 22 their intensity increased and the forwards crashed the ball, running in pods and rucking in sinc. The Rocks are about pounding the sides of the ruck sucking in the defenders and spinning it out to the backs. Simple rugby technique but very difficult to run.
Grunberg is looking to take the Shamrocks to their first League win this Saturday but Sioux Falls do not want to be the fist victims. It would have been easier if the Shamrocks weren't developing so well as a team and the roster growing by the week.
The Shamrocks still lack in size and are the smallest team in the division but I doubt that would be the problem. Infact we have seen these guys bring down monsters and I bet they will do it again this weekend.
